How to define some individuals who fluctuate over a period of perpetual definition? Those ones who reassert themselves every two minutes, who judge every three, who embrace each other when they do not find themselves and those who feel misunderstood, introverted and rebellious every other minute. The project pati (playground) is about teenagers present in a particular location: the school playground. A place they inhabit –and vacate– day after day through their presentations and representations in the shape of absent looks, histrionic disgraces, forgotten objects and impulse traces. The playground resolves into a space where teenagers coexist and cohabit until they own it. Their actions become symbolic: they leave proof of the guarded freedom atmosphere –conditional freedom– that is breathed in it. However, teenagers find the way to express themselves through their screeches, insults, shows of affection, silences, glances, selfies, unfinished sandwiches and paper airplanes flown from their classrooms with the purpose of crossing the school walls and end up landing in the playground (2016-2017).
